Last November I was given the opportunity to 2nd shoot/assist a fantastic husband and wife Video+Photo team, Juan Jose Photography. Juan handles the videography while his wife Rebekah takes care of photography! For this wedding they needed an additional photographer to capture all the details of the day and that is where I came in! 

I was so excited to be able to cover a ceremony at the absolutely stunning Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas, TX. I absolutely love this venue. We showed up to capture the getting ready and detail shots before the ceremony was to start. The bridal party was staying in one of the luxurious homes just next to the lawn where the ceremony was to be held. 

Upon meeting Kris it was apparent that this wedding would be unique, in the best possible way! I mean how fun is a Steampunk inspired wedding with a slight nautical twist!?!  Florals in pinks and maroon complimented her slightly blush lace gown and sparkling pink bridesmaids dresses to perfection.  Steampunk boots and a feather headpiece brought her wedding theme in to her wedding day attire. To die for!! 

Before the wedding we headed out to take some bridal party photos with the *drumroll please* Rolls Royce they had rented to take them from the house to the beach boardwalk for their ceremony. Daniel had his crew in navy blue and, veering from the traditional all male groomsmen, had 1 gorgeous grooms-woman. I loved the way she was able to wear the same dress as the bridesmaids while matching the groomsmen in color! 

Kris's love of cephalopods (fancy word for squid and octopi) was incorporated flawlessly into every detail by Jo Anne with Oh Goodie Designs. From the invitations, to the bouquet, to the favors, and even the cake!! 

In lieu of a normal (and maybe boring) guestbook, guests signed an insanely cool globe lamp. A series of Edison bulbs glowed down the head table, which had me obsessing and wishing I could go back in time and have Edison bulbs at my own wedding!  Topping off the steampunk theme was the coolest pyrotechnic display ever! Gears shot awe inspiring flames into the night sky every so often. It was really an incredible sight.  I can not be more grateful to have been a part of capturing such a truly unique and incredible celebration of love and marriage! I can't wait for the next Cinnamon Shore wedding I get to cover.
