At Kirby LeAnne Photography we cherish every moment of motherhood. We offer beautifully styled maternity sessions to document this miraculous time in your life. Maternity photos are all about celebrating the joy and anticipation of your new bundle of love.
When should I book my maternity session?
Your session should be booked and put on the calendar as soon as possible. I typically like to schedule you in when you will be 32-34 weeks. This will ensure you have enough of that beautiful baby bump showing, but that you are still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session.
What should I wear?
I have a wonderfully stocked client closet with those beautiful maternity gowns you see all over Pinterest. Most of my gowns will fit a range of pre pregnancy sizes from 4-14. They are very forgiving, comfortable, and photograph beautifully. You are able to pick 1 to 2 gowns for your session. If you’d like to wear something of your own I am happy to send you links to some of my favorite maternity wear sites. I recommend something comfortable, flowy, lightweight. Solid colors or very light patterns, lace, or lightly textured fabrics photograph best.
Can my family be included in the session?
Of course! Your spouse and your children are essential to telling the story of your growing family. We invite you to bring them and can give you suggestions for their wardrobe as well depending on what you will be wearing.
Hair & Makeup?
Growing a new human is a whole lot of work. I love to recommend that you use your maternity session as an excuse to pamper yourself a little big. You SO deserve it! Scheduling an appointment to get your hair and makeup professionally done will leave you feeling absolutely radiant and a little more relaxed for your session. If you choose to do you hair and makeup on your own I suggest adding a little more than you normally would and erring on the side of a little extra glam.
